All Grown Up (me, not the girls)

There are times in your life when you know you have reached major milestones: college graduation, first job, first car, first house, first child, etc. I've experienced all of these, and at each one, felt a little more like an adult than I did before. However, I think that more than any of these milestones combined, my newest milestone leaves no doubt that I am a fully mature grown up now. Okay, here it is, my big, life-changing moment...
I BOUGHT A MINIVAN!!!!
I swore I would never do it, and I'm still not quite sure how it happened. It may have something to do with the impending arrival of our third child... I'm pretty sure I wouldn't have been able to fit all three girls in my car, and I have a sneaking suspicion that I'm not allowed to strap a car seat to the roof of my car. I tried in so many different ways to avoid this moment, but here it is anyways...
I am now the proud owner of a minivan. There's no hiding or disguising it. It's definitely a minivan. I have heard from many of you that feel the same... you were traumatized by your mom's minivan in high school too. What can I say... it's actually not too bad. I at least got to do a minivan on my terms. Black on the outside (already covered in a fine layer of pollen, but so pretty anyways), tan leather on the inside (easy to wipe down so I can avoid the wet kid/sour milk smell that lived in the upholstery of my old car), XM radio (I haven't mentioned to the girls that there are kid stations, so I can still listen to the Lucy station! [channel 54]), drop down DVD player with wireless headphones (supposedly for long trips only, but possibly also for my sanity around town), and most importantly, it drives like a car- not a van.
Having said all that, I still mourn the loss of my car a little bit. Fortunately, it is still parked in our driveway since it is Kevin's car now. Any time I start to feel a little bit too mature in my van, I can always take my old car out for a spin!!
Another impending milestone... in two weeks I will turn 32. That means I will have been driving for half my life!! Doesn't that seem a little outrageous??!!

Yeah, that is crazy! I can't believe we are that old!

I did have a mini van I had to drive when I was learning to drive, and it was terrible. However, they have come a long way since then.

Just a slight correction - You were delivered to school each day in a Honda Accord. Of course, everywhere else you went in one of our several minivans. Traumatized or not, congratualtions on growing up another notch.

I like the van, Jenny! It's a sporty van - and how cool are those extra gadgets (don't tell Burt I said that!)

Oh my gosh, I am so jealous! I know I may be in the minority, but I'm dying to get a minivan as soon as my car is paid off. I can't wait!!! And we were researching the one it looks like you got, and that's the best one out there. Congrats to you!!!
