Every now and then it's easy to forget what's so great about being a mother, but then I have such a great day with my girls and I remember why I love this crazy job! If Lucy said this once, she said it at least thirty times, "I hope you have a happy Mother's Day." (accompanied by a cute little smile and giant hug) And she wasn't even trying to get anything out of it! She was just genuinely excited to celebrate my mommyness. And her little copycat (a.k.a. Lauren) was right behind her, echoing with her own, "Mudder Day!!" The girls celebrated by giving me a book I wanted ("Naptime Is The New Happy Hour"-- hilarious if you want a good laugh!), and we all went to Outback for lunch. What pregnant lady doesn't crave a giant steak (and coconut shrimp, and french onion soup, and fries with cheese and bacon, and key lime pie, etc.) Just to remind me that I am stil a Mom, the girls had a good fight over who could hold my flower that they were handing out to moms at Outback. It ended with me retaking posession of a very mangled pink carnation. The girls redeemed themselves by singing "Happy Mother's Day to you" to the tune of happy birthday. Then we all headed home for a big, fat Mother's Day nap. Here are the reasons I love being a mom...
