Getting to Know Our Family

I tried to start out with a picture of our family because it is likely the only one we'll have for the year (and this is actually from last summer)! We can never all get in the same picture and smile nicely at the same time. Someone is always frowning, looking away, or has a finger up the nose. I thought for my first post I would let you know a little bit about each of us. After reading a little bit about us (we're all a little crazy in our own way!), you may or may not want to tune in for the next post!
Kevin
1. After being in radio for nine years, he now works for a lighting company. If you have bought a lamp at any Walmart, it's likely he sold it to Walmart.
2. He is very into running, biking, swimming, etc. He is going to do his first triathalon in a few weeks. How cool is that?
3. Because of all the exercise, he had lost enough weight that I was afraid he might weigh less than me!
4. He is not really bald, but fears that he is, so he just shaves his head instead.
5. He is a great husband and father.
6. He has three tattoos and is always plotting ways to get me to agree to more.
7. He always has us laughing.
8. He is a coffee snob!
9. He just got back from China.
10. He doesn't believe in real shoes... just flip flops!

Jenny
1. I am a stay at home mom, with two girls and another on the way.
2. I have a cake decorating business with a friend. I love it! I don't care much for eating cake and icing anymore though. I think I've been around it too much!
3. I have pregnancy brain. The more pregnant I am, the less brain cells I have!
4. For the first time in my life I became a runner. I sort of liked it. Then I got pregnant. What a great excuse to quit running!!!
5. I am apparently incapable of doing several loads of laundry and getting them put away. They just look so lovely piled up in the living room chair!
6. I love my girls and Kevin!
7. I am a big book nerd.
8. I have enormous feet!! No cute shoes come in my size.
9. I loved my short haircut, but I'm letting my hair grow out because I was afraid it was becoming the "mom haircut".
10. Secretly, I am just a smidge taller than Kevin!

Lucy
1. She is four years old.
2. She has beautiful, long hair that she says she will never cut short.
3. She calls all white horses "princess horsies" even if they have very un-princess-like parts!
4. She put on lipstick(a.k.a. chapstick) last night, and decided to give her eyebrows a coat as well! MMMMM... pink, strawberry flavored eyebrows!
5. Her favorite color is purple.
6. She only likes to wear skirts and dresses because, "pants aren't beautiful!".
7. She loves ballet!
8. She is a daddy's girl.
9. She is very loving and sweet to friends and family.
10. She is very good at translating what her sister says when no one else can understand her.

Lauren
1. She is almost two, but she thinks she's as big as Lucy.
2. She is constantly covered in stains from head to toe.
3. She loves her teddy and pink blanket.
4. She doesn't feel that one bracelet is enough... she isn't happy unless she can stack at least twenty bracelets up her arm.
5. Whenever you ask her how she is, she always answers, "GREAT!!" Not "good" or "fine", but "GREAT!!!"
6. Her favorite song is "Old McDonald Had a Farm," but she doesn't know the words very well. She just sings, "moo moo moo moo moo moo, E-I-E-I-O"
7. She loves to wear sunglasses, known in Lauren-speak as "Shashie."
8. She only calls animals by their sounds... oink-oink=pig, ruff-ruff=dog, etc.
9. She will do anything for a laugh, including burping and tooting on command!
10. She is a sweetie who loves to grab my leg and say, "I wuff oo mommee"

Caroline
1. She is due on July 28, 2008.
2. She is proof that we only have girls in our family!
3. She may never have a middle name... we are open to suggestions!
3. Lauren thinks Caroline's name should be Elmo(Melmo Baby according to Lauren-speak)
4. She loves to kick me all day and night. She may be my little soccer player!
5. She caused all day morning sickness for 18 weeks. On the plus side, that also kept me from putting on too much weight so far!
6. Lucy helped to pick out her name. She is so excited to be a big sister again.
7. She is very loved already!!!!!

Well, there you have it. Our crazy and fun family all rolled up into one neat little package. Hope to see you back for the next post!

First things first since blogging is a girl thing. Gina wants to know how to get in touch with Lydia?
Second item to warn Box(referred to on Blog as Kevin???), Blogging is for girls it keeps my wife up late at night. I now go to bed earlier than she does. (which means we will probably stop at 3 kids, because when we went to bed at the same time.....nevermind). I will admit I read the blogs, but it is still for girls.
Anyways it is good to keep up, and I only remember 2 tattoos.

I am so happy that you are blogging and that you found my site. This is such a great way to keep up with people. Your girls are so cute and that is exciting that you have another one on the way. I am glad that you guys are doing well. It is good to know that Kevin is still a Californian at heart with the flip flops.

I just looked at your cake site. I always knew that you were talented, but those are amazing. Don't laugh in a few months when I put Layton's b-day cake on the blog and it looks nothing like that.

Hey Jenny, I found your blog through Danna. This is Amy (Knight) Griffin from Harding. I was very excited to get updated with your family. Your girls are precious!

I also checked out your cakes and they are amazing! I mean they are way too beautiful to eat. I am sure they taste as good as they look. I am so,so impressed as I made my daughter's first birthday cake. She is five and I have not made another! You are very talented!
