Long Time, No Post

It seems like forever since I've been able to string together five minutes to post anything. Here are a few of the moments you have missed while I was away...

Jenny was buried under mounds of cake and icing.

Kevin received a raise! Yay Kevin!!

Lucy used the word 'improvise,' and she used it correctly. How does she even know what that means?
Lucy has also started writing all of her letters! This is a big relief since her perfectionism has kept her from even trying.
Lucy had her first ballet class for the fall (pictures coming soon), and she is also signed up for soccer. For awhile she wanted to be a soccer cheerleader, but I finally got her to accept that soccer just doesn't have cheerleaders.

Lauren can reach the light switches.
Lauren is a little obsessed with "This little piggy went to market..."
Lauren had her toenails painted for the first time.

Caroline had a bellybuttonectomy (or whatever you call it when the doctor has to help cut off her cord stump.) Ick.
Caroline gave us her first smiles. So sweet!!
Caroline is five weeks old today!

And a quick shout out to Poppie (Kevin's Dad) for finishing his century (100 mile bike ride) under his goal time!! Yay Poppie!!

Yeah! Good to hear from you, stranger! Pate is playing soccer, too, and Brian is going to coach again, so maybe Lucy would be on our team, and if not, at least we'll play each other!
By the way, all our kids had to have bellybuttonectomies, too!

Wow...was the smile before or after the bellybuttonectomy?!?!?! I am anxious to see more pictures! Glad to see you posting again.

They are all so adorable! Tyler had to have a bellybuttonectomie too. It just decided to never come off. Did Hornbeck tell you that when he practiced out west they didn't put the purple dye on it? He said he thinks that the dye is one of the reasons they don't fall off like they should - but the hospitals here insist on using it. Interesting.

I am very impressed that you can get a child to soccer AND ballet! I am trying to even decide if I can make it to gymnastics. Also, I have been checking out your cakes and also...very impressed!! Congrats on the recent accomplishments!

Thanks for your comment about the weaning. It's nice to know someone else feels the way I do. You are an impressive woman--breastfeeding five week old Caroline and getting Lucy to soccer AND ballet??? I wasn't out of my robe yet when Will was five weeks old. Super Mom!
